The purpose of this time-line is to give a brief overview of the major events in the Islamic world from the time of Hijra, the birth of the Islamic calendar to the final destruction of the last Muslim empire, from Muslim Spain to India. Short notes comprised of more accurate dates and explanation of events are linked to the major dynasty headings.
