In the battlefield I stand
Alone with none to help me
Hate and enmity between people
Killed with no mercy

How can I defend myself
With no weapon or armor at hand
And strive to reach the other side
Without getting killed and still be able to stand

Knives and swords surround me
I duck and escape as I can
It is not because of my skill
But by the will of Allah's plan

What is the meaning behind this war
I never stopped to think and use my head
Then I woke up and knew
The enemy was my Nafs and the battle...my Jihad
